About Francesca
Growing up in Northern Italy, Francesca worked in hospitality all over Italy and Europe in her twenties, already noticing people searching for meaningful food experiences that just weren’t on offer.
Earning her master's degree in Food Culture and Communications from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Northern Italy, she got to know Slow Food producers throughout Europe, gaining a deep understanding of food from an anthropological and production perspective. She went on to work on a European Union-funded project building a network of small food producers in Tuscany, developing their communications and experiences.
During several years living in New York City, she worked for importers bringing Italy’s best food products to the US, becoming proficient in English as well as American culture and hospitality. Living in the city, she saw a growing need for a more conscious connection to our food.
Since 2018, she has worked and lived at Maraviglia farm in Tuscany, helping to produce the farm’s olive oil, and running retreats where she cooks vegetarian Tuscan meals and teaches yoga.
Francesca now lives between the countryside in Tuscany and New York City, offering her in-depth local food tours and travel planning services alongside her work at Maraviglia.
